We are excited to highlight several key initiatives and events aimed at empowering women in #Data, #AI, and #Postgres ecosystem.

Postgres Women India (PWI) proudly participated in the PostgreSQL Meetup at IIT Bombay on February 7th.

Hari Kiran delivered an engaging session on “Building Active-Active PostgreSQL: Multi-Master Replication at Scale,” sharing practical insights on high-availability architectures and real-world implementations.

Aarti from PWI attended the event and built a great rapport with several women participants, encouraging stronger community connections.

PWI remains committed to empowering women in PostgreSQL through mentorship, inclusion, and technical excellence.

PGMeetup #5 – Virtually at PgVizag | Feb 14th 2026

PGMeetup #5 was successfully hosted virtually by PgVizag, bringing together PostgreSQL enthusiasts for an engaging and interactive session.

The meetup provided a platform for knowledge sharing, community discussions, and collaboration across regions. It’s inspiring to see the growing momentum of the PostgreSQL community through consistent virtual and in-person initiatives.

PgHyd Meetup#13 Highlights

PgHyd Meetup#13 kicked off 2026 with its first meetup of the year — a full house with 65 attendees, filling every seat and setting an inspiring tone for the year ahead.

The event featured 6 engaging speakers who shared valuable technical insights and real-world experiences.

Jeswita and Keerthi represented Postgres Women India and delivered a crisp 5-minute talk outlining the PWI roadmap, sharing community success stories, and introducing the upcoming upskill program and Leadership Strategy Meetup initiatives. Click to know more about this event

Successful Postgres Women India Leadership Summit 

What started as an evening to align on the PWI Roadmap 2026 turned into a highly impactful and energizing session. The summit reflected our collective commitment to strengthening the PostgreSQL ecosystem and building stronger leadership within the community.

We were privileged to have Hari Kiran deliver the keynote, sharing insights from over two decades of technical expertise and community leadership. His address brought clarity and direction to the PWI 2026 vision.

Postgres Woman of the Month - February 2026 | Woman For Data

We’re excited to feature Subathra Shanmugam, Database Architect at Cognizant, Coimbatore.

From starting her career as a SQL Server Support Engineer at Microsoft to leading large-scale SQL Server and PostgreSQL cloud migrations, she has built strong expertise in scalable architecture, high availability, and cloud transformation.

She actively mentors women and freshers through Cognizant’s Nurture Her and GenC initiatives and participates in community events like PGConf Bangalore 2025.

Her advice: Build strong fundamentals, seek mentors, and embrace open-source communities.

Postgres Women India is proud to spotlight Chandini kurada, a seasoned software professional with 5+ years of experience and a Solutions Engineer at OpenSource DB, whose work sits at the intersection of data, cloud, and real-world impact.

From delivering enterprise-grade digital solutions to exploring cloud-native data platforms, Chandini kurada has built her journey around a deep respect for data and scalable systems.
