Rookies Today, Trailblazers Tomorrow

Rookie of the Month is a recognition by Postgres Women India (PWI) that celebrates new contributors embarking on their journey in the PostgreSQL ecosystem. Through this spotlight, we recognize learning milestones, early contributions, and proactive community engagement — offering encouragement and visibility to emerging talent.

After all, every expert was once a rookie. At Postgres Women India, we honor the passion, curiosity, and first steps of our rising stars, and the spark they bring to the community.

Keerthi Seetha is a Software Engineer (DBA) at OpenSource DB with a background in Computer Science and Engineering. She began her career as a Frontend Developer specializing in React.js before discovering her passion for PostgreSQL after joining OpenSource DB. Over the past year, she has been actively involved in database administration, testing, monitoring, performance tuning, and Python scripting for automation.

Keerthi is an enthusiastic contributor to the PostgreSQL community, participating in events like PGHyderabad, PGVizag, PWI Chennai, and PgConf India, where she has also delivered talks. Her journey in PostgreSQL has been both amazing and transformative, filled with continuous learning and hands-on challenges; from her first talk at a meetup to setting up pgBackRest successfully.

Guided by her mentor Hari and her supportive team, Keerthi continues to grow her expertise in PostgreSQL, with a special interest in areas like backup and recovery, query optimization, and logical replication. She believes in staying curious, learning by doing, and embracing the open-source spirit of collaboration.
