Journey in PostgreSQL

AWS – Senior Delivery Consultant – Data & AI at Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Database Architect/Cloud Database Migration Specialist/Speaker/Mentor

Over 25 years of experience across multi-database, multi-cloud environments and Application Development

Continuously learning in PostgreSQL along with AI also focusing on multi databases is primary focus and also actively contributing in Postgres Community as a Speaker, Mentor and Coach.

Can you share a pivotal moment or project in your PostgreSQL career that has been particularly meaningful to you?

Working in an engagement leading 3 Dojo s and focusing on Multiple Database Migrations which also involved DB2 to PostgreSQL migrations. This project gave me exposure and learning experience in PostgreSQL and also the key focus areas to complete code conversion in very less time.

Contributions and Achievements:

Leading Database Migrations from DB2 to PostgreSQL (Data in TB). Writing optimized queries to migrate Billions of records with very minimal downtime.

(II)  Have you faced any challenges in your work with PostgreSQL, and how did you overcome them?

Oracle to PostgreSQL Migrations with Delta changes on regular basis was one of the challenging project where Automation to identify the Delta and incorporate delta changes assisted to overcome periodic Delta changes and led to smooth migration.

Community Involvement:

I have given and continuously contributing sessions at database events, contribute to internal and external learning forums through knowledge sharing, mentorship program, and engage in technical discussions.

(II) Can you share your experience with mentoring or supporting other women in the PostgreSQL ecosystem?

With my experience was able to guide and mentor women within my circle which also involved PostgreSQL Community. This gave the opportunity to other women to actively participate and show case their core skills.

Continuously learning and key focus on core fundamentals which helps to build path. With the evolving world expand your knowledge in AI technologies as well and be an active participant in any events.
